Here’s the next installment of WANA Friday, in which several writers post on a common topic. The posts are meant to be short and sweet, so you can go blog-hopping and read everyone’s takes on the subject.
This week’s subject:
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
As you may have noticed, I like travelling. I’ve just finished an amazing trip through Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Nepal. In previous years, I’ve travelled through Norway, Denmark, Ireland, England, France (briefly), and a good chunk of my own country, Canada.
So where do I still dream of going?
I’ve been fascinated by outer space, astronomy, and astrophysics since my early teens (my discovery of Star Trek: The Next Generation may have had something to do with it!). I would love to feel zero gravity, go for a spacewalk, look down at our blue planet, maybe even visit Mars and look up at that red sky. We won’t even talk about FTL spaceships….
Honorary mentions on our own planet: Italy, Greece, and Canada’s Arctic.

That’s all for now. See you back here on Monday!
Yeah, wouldn’t that be awesome? Something to aspire to, definitely. π
My choice was a little more earthbound…

Ummm. I think I’ll pass on this one! But good luck. If anyone can do it, you can.

Trust Siri to think out of the box! When you go, you’ll have to send back postcards π
Space-the final frontier. Not a bad choice–the view is amazing. Ha!

Awesome choice, Siri. I’d love to see outer space, too.

Thanks so much, everyone! Loved seeing all your different reactions. π
Zero gravity would be so cool! I’ve watched Chris Hadfield on the ISS on youtube and it looks fun π
You’ve traveled the globe and now it’s time for the universe. Awesome! You are an inspiration.
Sign me up for the space walk! That would be amazing and probably is doable in our lifetime.
I have been as far north as Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. There’s still a lot more north to go. Northern Lights are beautiful.
Thanks, guys! Elizabeth — I’m blushing here.
Suzanne, I hope you’re right! I’m not about to splash out millions of dollars (on top of months training) as a space tourist, but if and when it comes down to four figures, I’d seriously consider it.
Come to Australia!
Maybe someday!
